It is time to break out the party balloons, eat some birthday cake and have a party, because the Windows Insider Program is 1 year old on September 30!
It’s hard to believe that the Windows Insider Program is already a year old! On the last day of September 2014, Microsoft announced the Windows Insider Program for Windows 10. In the following press release, Microsoft promised early access to beta software, and to listen to your feedback. Of course being a bit of a fanboy I signed up for the Windows Insider Program the next day.
As Brandon LeBlanc says in the Windows Blog: “As part of our new approach to building and delivering Windows 10 to customers, we want to make sure we get feedback in real-time as the development process is ongoing.”
Many people, including myself, were very skeptical about Microsoft listening to users. Windows 8.0 was still fresh in our minds as a product that was created with little regard for users – some would say disregard. Still I joined, installed the builds on my backup laptop and started having fun with Windows 10.
